Barry Epperley to Receive Governor’s Award
Barry Epperley, artistic director and conductor of Signature Symphony at Tulsa Community College, is one of two recipients of the 2013 Governor’s Award from the Oklahoma Arts Council. Epperley will be honored for his contribution to Oklahoma’s arts and cultural industry during the 38th Annual Governor’s Arts Awards, Nov. 13.

Tulsan Samantha “Sami” Isler is literally living the Hollywood dream that evades so many. At just 15, Isler has landed a major role on the new sitcom “Sean Saves the World.” The show stars actor Sean Hayes who played Jack McFarland on NBC’s Emmy-award-winning comedy “Will & Grace,” and Isler stars as Ellie, Sean’s lively teenage daughter. The cast also includes veteran actress Linda Lavin and the acting talent of Thomas Lennon, Echo Kellum and Megan Hilty. The comedy, in the Thursday prime time 9/8c slot, premiered Thursday, Oct. 3 at 8 p.m.

Theatre Tulsa Turns 91
BLONDE AMBITION: Cast members of Legally Blonde: The Musical perform at its kickoff party at Girouard Vines, 817 East 3rd St., on Sept. 12. The musical runs Sept. 20-29 at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. The show is put on by Theatre Tulsa, which is starting its 91st season.
CONTINUING POPULARITY:
The Tulsa Symphony performs for a crowd that filled up Guthrie Green on Sept. 6 at the First Friday Art Crawl. The concert marked the one-year anniversary of Guthrie Green, which opened with a performance by the orchestra.
Oktoberfest: Oct. 17-20
BRATWURST : Oktoberfest comes to Tulsa Oct. 17-20. Attendees can expect to see competitions, arts, crafts and kid-friendly activities. There will also be traditional German and local music in addition to a big-screen TV at the Das Sports Café to view current sporting events. Admission is $6.
