Former Jenks Mayor Vic Vreeland was roasted in an event that took 24 years to create.
The Jenks Chamber of Commerce Community Foundation hosted the event, which was held on March 28 at the Oklahoma Aquarium. Proceeds for the roast benefited the Community Foundation.

Tulsa County Jail Stops Accepting Prisoners on Municipal Charges
The Tulsa Police Department has been advised the David L. Moss Criminal Justice Center has reached its capacity and will not be accepting any prisoners on municipal charges. The only exception to this municipal restriction is when a prisoner is being booked on state charges; municipal charges may be added on.
President Obama Signs Oklahoma Disaster Declaration
On April 8, the President declared a major disaster exists in the State of Oklahoma and ordered Federal aid to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area affected by a severe winter storm and snowstorm during the period of Feb. 24-26, 2013.
Applications for Fix Our Streets Rebate Due April 15

Rep. Jim Bridenstine Finding Expectations Being Met in Congress
Thus far, the first months serving his first term in the U.S. Congress has met Jim Bridenstine’s expectations. He says he is honored to serve the First Congressional District of Oklahoma, and the work is just as hard and the pressure just as intense as he had expected. He has come up to his first deadline and isn’t quite sure what to make of it. The sequester, designed to cut federal budgets everywhere, has gone into effect and to date no one quite seems to know what to make of it. “If it does lead to massive defense cuts it will be especially devastating to Oklahoma because we have so many instillations that employ so many people,” Bridenstine says. Just what the final result will be is yet to be determined.

Election Dates Set for Commissioner Perry Seat
