Iba Dinner to Fly High with Eagles
The Rotary Club of Tulsa will present a President’s Award to the Philadelphia Eagles sports franchise at the Henry P. Iba Citizen Athlete Awards in June. In the 18-year history of the awards program, only two other President’s Awards have been presented — one to former coach John Wooden in 2004 and one to Olympic medalist speed skater Joey Cheek in 2007. The award was created to honor individuals who promote and advance the qualities of leadership, education and compassion and who inspire others to do the same.

Tulsa Rowing Club Offers Summer Camps
The Tulsa Rowing Club Juniors are looking for seventh- and eighth-grade and high school aged athletes to join their competitive program. The team regularly competes on the national level, and the athletes are also successful in gaining college scholarships at universities all over the U.S. The team will host summer camps in the month of June to allow participants to try rowing for the first time. Nebraska’s Khiry Cooper Admitted at Tulsa
Tulsa Head Football Coach Bill Blankenship confirmed today that Khiry (KY-ree) Cooper has signed scholarship papers and has been admitted to The University of Tulsa as a graduate student. Cooper will receive his degree from the University of Nebraska in May, but still has one season of football eligibility remaining and will complete that year at Tulsa.
Adrian Peterson Pledges $1 Million to OU Athletics
Former University of Oklahoma All-America running back Adrian Peterson pledged a $1 million donation to the OU Athletics Department today. The donation will support the construction of Headington Hall — OU’s new student housing facility — and will also establish the Adrian Peterson Football Scholarship Endowment.
Danny Manning Introduced as Tulsa Basketball Coach
The University of Tulsa Director of Athletics Ross Parmley introduced Kansas’ Danny Manning as the school’s 29th head basketball coach today at a 2:30 pm news conference at the ONEOK Club on the TU campus.
