New Career, Classic Style for Tulsa Tech Alum
Clayton Keith may have a new career, but his style is definitely classic, highlighted by the fact that he prefers to honor his craft working as a barber, as opposed to a stylist. One of the metro-area’s newest members to join the grooming profession can be found at Blades Barbering, located at 3711 S. Harvard Ave. The Owasso and Collinsville area resident credits many special childhood memories for his initial attraction to the industry.

Our Tulsa area enjoys its best weather in the spring and fall, prompting venues and promoters to come up with events that are enticing enough to draw an audience inside. Are Willie Nelson and Tom Jones tempting enough? Perhaps ZZ Top and Speedwagon? Maybe Jerry Seinfeld on the comic side or a penetrating performance related to Black Wall Street.

Bohemian Pizzeria Adds Charm to East Village
East Village Bohemian Pizzeria, 818 E. 3rd St., opened in downtown Tulsa’s East Village at the end of 2014.
The district is an upscale, quaint diamond in the rough in downtown Tulsa. The area has recently seen a growth in its offerings with the opening of The Boxyard at 3rd Street and Frankfort Avenue, bringing a much-needed retail and services element to the district.

Our Center, which was rated by Pollstar as the seventh most successful arena in the nation based on ticket sales, has delivered on its promise to have a knock-out 10th-anniversary year of headliners. Achieving Energy Excellence Through Digital Transformation
Since the beginning of March of this year, I have spoken at several events including The Pipeline & Energy Expo in Tulsa, the 25th Annual Meeting of the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association in Lake Charles, Louisiana, the Digital Transformation in the oil and gas industry conference in Houston, and the Pre-Conference of the National Council on Undergraduate Research at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. The next event that I will be speaking at is the OK-National Association of Royalty Owners Annual Convention in Oklahoma City.

Midtown Building is a 1960s Time Capsule
The building at 3202 E. 21st St. is one of the best examples of mid-century modern design in Tulsa.
Designed and built in 1962 by architect Donald Honn to be his architectural office, this structure has continuously attracted tenants from the design profession. After occupying it for a few years, Donald Honn built a new 1960s contemporary building on south Harvard and sold this one to Dick Schmitz, owner of Irving Productions.
Red Dirt Music Community Loses a Legend
This was never the plan.
My job is easy. At least, that’s what I thought. That’s what it’s supposed to be. I write about music. Local music that I love and want to listen to and talk about, learn more about and introduce to people.
This month, I feel like I’m in over my head. I find myself searching for words to assign meaning to the loss our music community has suffered, and honestly, it’s beyond my expertise.

I’ve traveled for many years and recognized that music as its own language can create a shared emotion. Bonding with strangers over music is gratifying, whether you are singing along to a tune everyone knows or listening thoughtfully to jazz. Music touches common ground within us.
Direct Flights a Key Factor for Tulsa’s Economy
Since Tulsa’s first beginnings, we were fortunate to have pioneers who embodied a spirit of high expectations for their new hometown. They built one of the first airports in the world, which led to the growth of the aviation industry right here in our beloved city. Much of our success was a result of the public/private collaborations that continue today to ensure Tulsa’s successful growth.
