Tway Named Big 12 Golfer of the Month
Oklahoma State’s Kevin Tway was named the Big 12 Golfer of the Month for April it was announced today by the league office.
The honor adds to an already impressive list of accolades this week for Tway, who was named a first-team All-Big 12 pick on Tuesday and a finalist for the Ben Hogan Award earlier today.
Cowgirl Golf Set For Regional Play
Oklahoma State’s women’s golf team will resume play this week when it travels to Notre Dame, Indiana for the Central Regional. The 54-hole event will consist of 18 holes each day beginning with Thursday’s first round and concluding on Saturday. The 16th-seeded Cowgirls will be paired with No. 17 seed North Texas and 18th-seeded Wisconsin during the first round. The trio will begin on the No. 10 tee at 12:30 p.m. () at the par-72, 6,208-yard layout. The top eight teams and two individuals not on those qualifying teams will advance to the Championship, which will be held in Bryan, Texas at Traditions Golf Club from May 18-21. Live scoring for the event will be available at golfstat.com.
Tway, Uihlein Named Hogan Finalists
Oklahoma State’s Peter Uihlein and Kevin Tway have been named two of the three finalists for the Ben Hogan Award it was announced today by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
National Football Foundation Honors OSU’s Anthony Hill
Former Oklahoma State wide receiver Anthony Hill was honored for his outstanding work in the classroom Wednesday as the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame () named him a member of the 2011 Hampshire Honor Society.
GTR Student Athlete of the Month: Jacob Pearce, Jenks High School
Jacob Pearce of Jenks High School is the Student Athlete of the Month.
Pearce has a 3.5 and is the team captain of the Jenks Varsity Swim Team. As the team captain, he leads his peers as a motivator in and out of the pool. He helped organize a canned food drive and a Red Cross blood drive.
Mossman Named Tulsa Women’s Basketball Coach
Matilda Mossman was appointed as the head women’s basketball coach at The University of Tulsa. Most recently a prep coach in Oklahoma, Mossman previously held head coaching stints on the collegiate level at both the University of Arkansas and Kansas State University.
Former Oklahoma State All-American Wins OKC Marathon
Former Oklahoma State All-American runner Mindaugas Pukstas won the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon today in 2:31.33. He edged second-place finisher Scotty Downard for the title, as Downard finished in 2:31.40.
Piliusina Sets 800 Meters Record at Stanford
Five members of the Oklahoma State track and field program competed at the Payton Jordan Invitational Sunday, highlighted by freshman Natalja Piliusina’s school-record performance in the women’s 800 meters.
Tulsa Rowing Club Juniors Offers Summer Camps for Tulsa Area High School Athletes
The Tulsa Rowing Club Juniors are looking for high school aged athletes to
join their competitive high school program. The team regularly competes on
the national level and our athletes are also successful in gaining college
scholarships at universities all over the US. The team will be hosting
summer camps in the month of June to allow participants to try rowing for
the first time.

Four Cowgirl Netters Named to All-Big 12 Academic Team
Oklahoma State women’s tennis players Sara Meghoufel, Nataliya Shatkovskaya, Leyla Simmons and Malika Rose were named to the 2011 All-Big 12 Academic Women’s Tennis Team, the league announced on Tuesday.
Cowgirls Host Sooners
Oklahoma State’s 16th-ranked softball team will host the No. 15 Oklahoma Sooners on Wednesday, April 27, at the Cowgirl Softball Complex. First pitch is slated for 7 pm. The game will be televised by Cox Communications in both Tulsa and Oklahoma City (Cox channel 3).
Cowboys Fall To Shockers, 6-5
Oklahoma State brought the winning run to the plate four times in the ninth inning Tuesday night against Wichita State, but the Shockers held on for a 6-5 win in front of 3,772 fans at Eck Stadium.

The Oklahoma State women’s tennis team wrapped up its regular season Saturday in front of the biggest home crowd of the year as the Cowgirls fell to No. 20 Oklahoma at the DeBois Tennis Complex, 6-1.
