Heart Walk 2011 a Success
CRITICAL : About 6,000 people gathered at Oneok Field Apr. 2 for the 2011 Tulsa Heart Walk. As the goes to press the event has raised about $636,000 with money still coming in until June.

Last week to apply for Fix Our Streets Sales Tax Rebate
Even if you’ve already filed your taxes and spent your refund, there’s still time to apply for the City of Tulsa’s $25 Sales Tax Rebate for Fix Our Streets. The application deadline is April 15, 2011. Residents who are mailing them to the City of Tulsa should make sure they are postmarked by April 15.
‘Seabiscuit’ Star Gets New Home in Tulsa
COMING : Rich in Dallas, the horse that played Seabiscuit in the 2004 Disney movie will be retiring in the beautiful equestrian grounds of the Tulsa Boys Home. This all came about when Leslie and Tom Hubble of Stroud learned that Rich in Dallas was in search of a new home.
Mayor Names Interim Director of Public Works Department
Mayor Dewey Bartlett announced today that Jeff Mulder will continue to oversee the Public Works Department as the Director of Transportation and Infrastructure, and each division of Public Works will continue to be managed by the current Deputy Director (Dan Crossland/Public Facilities; Clayton Edwards/Environmental Services; Ken Hill/Policy Development & Administration; Paul Zachary/Engineering.) Public Works Director Charles Hardt retired from the position effective March 31.
Glee Benefits Street School
A Night of Glee will be held April 9 at 7 p.m. in the Tulsa Convention Center’s Ballroom. The event will benefit Street School of Tulsa and feature a variety of fun entertainment.
Pinnacle Award Recipients Recognized
The City of Tulsa Mayor’s Commission on the Status of Women and Tulsa Women’s Foundation honored 2011 Pinnacle Award recipients at a reception recently held at Gilcrease Museum. Pinnacle Awards are presented annually in March during “Women’s History Month.”
