Cajun Ed’s Annual CrawFest Returns May 20
FAMILY–FRIENDLY EVENT: On May 20, Cajun Ed’s Hebert’s Specialty Meats, 2101 E. 71st St., will hold CrawFest 2017, with Cajun favorites, live music and crawfish games from 11 a/m/ to 7 p.m. Funds raised will benefit the Rockin’ G Equine Sanctuary. Admission free and food tickets are $2 each.
Ol’Vine Brings Quality Food, Wine to Brookside
Ol’Vine, 3523 S. Peoria Ave., opened in February in the former space of Sonoma Bistro and Wine Bar in Brookside.
While the new owners created a menu largely reminiscent of Sonoma’s offerings, there are still a number of new dishes to be discovered as well as a heightened food quality, noted our server Samuel, when our party dined their recently.

Ruth’s Chris Steak House Sets the Bar High in Quality
Ruth’s Chris Steak House opened in January at River Spirit Casino Resort, 8330 Riverside Pkwy.
The restaurant sets its elegant ambiance right from its entrance, which features large stately doors off the hotel and casino corridor that lead to the hostess desk and an expansive bar and lounge. In addition, the restaurant’s dining room sits behind the lounge and juts out west toward the Arkansas River, offering views of both the resort pool, to open in the spring, and the river. The dining room also offers private rooms for events.
Little Light House Nominated for Award
Arthur Greeno, owner and operator of two Tulsa Chick-fil-A locations, recently nominated Little Light House for The Chick-fil-A Foundation’s 2017 True Inspiration Awards.
Mardi Gras Celebration
A FESTIVE GATHERING: The Jambalaya Jazz Band performs during Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday, on Feb. 28 at Cajun Ed’s Hebert’s Specialty Meats and Restaurant, 2101 E. 71st St. The restaurant offers authentic Cajun cuisine as well as a meal delivery service and a retail area with prepared meats and other Cajun items.

STG to Rose District
COMING : On March 23, Mike, pictured above, and Jim Bausch, owners of Andolini’s Pizzeria and Gelateria, announced their plans to open Gelateria Broken Arrow in the Rose District, at 217 S. Main St. The shop will sell over 60 different types of handmade Italian gelato and sorbetto, brew and serve Topeca coffee, and make and sell fresh pasta. The 1,300-square-foot space will open this summer.
The Tropical: Upscale Thai, Seafood in South Tulsa
The Tropical Restaurant and Bar, 8125 E. 49th St., opened in 2011 as a second restaurant concept for the Karnchanakphan family, who have been in the Tulsa community for decades.
Andolini’s Pizzeria: Expanding in Greater Tulsa
When Mike Bausch moved to the greater Tulsa area to join his brother, Jim, and open a pizza restaurant, the plan was always to go big, says Mike Bausch.
The brothers opened Andolini’s Pizzeria in Owasso in 2005, but they took their time before expanding, learning from past mistakes and finding what worked best, Mike continues.
Ruth’s Chris Steak House Opens
The first Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Oklahoma opened at River Spirit Casino Resort Jan. 23.
The 13,000-square-foot restaurant will offer American Steakhouse favorites ranging from the signature Prime Steaks, served on 500-degree plates, to high-quality seafood, a variety of salads and appetizers, homemade sides, and desserts.
