SCU to Hold First Ever Renaissance Fair
Southwestern Christian University will host its first ever Renaissance Fair Saturday, April 12 from 12:45-4 p.m. The event will take place on SCU’s campus, located at 7210 NW 39th Expressway in Bethany, Okla.

University School to Hold Auction, Dinner
University School at the University of Tulsa will host its annual live and silent auction April 12 at the Bernsen Center. This year’s event is called “Tastes from Around the World” and all proceeds will go towards scholarships to University School and provide assistance to students in financial need. Scholarship fundraising success is made possible through the generous donations of local businesses.
RSU ‘Safari Adventure’ Auction April 25
“Safari Adventure: Roar of the Wild” is the theme of the fourth annual Rogers State University Foundation Scholarship Auction and Dinner, which will feature a festive evening of food and music, a chance to win a trip to Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Florida and the opportunity to bid on a variety of unique live and silent auction items, ranging in value from five to several thousand dollars.

Kaiser Announces $50 Million Gift to OU-Tulsa
The George Kaiser Family Foundation announced a $50 million gift to improve the health of Oklahomans through community-based medicine.
With the gift, the College of Medicine at OU-Tulsa will change its focus and become the first formally named School of Community Medicine in the nation. The OU School of Community Medicine’s explicit purpose will be to improve the overall health status of underserved Oklahoma communities by providing additional community-based medical student education programs and resident training and by increasing the number of physician graduates.

OSU Offering College Courses Geared Towards Senior Citizens
Oklahoma State University’s “Senior College” officially kicked off the spring semester on Feb. 5. The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at OSU will present a slate of six academic courses for area seniors, age 50 and up. Tuesday classes include “The Balanced Life for Seniors,” whose topics include: Mind Matters; Brain Boosters; Therapeutic Recreation; Elder Law; Legislative Issues Facing Seniors; Area Services for Seniors; and Seniors and Sexuality.
TCC Holds Transition Institute
For students with disabilities, life after high school presents a whole new challenge. The disABLED Student Resource Center at Tulsa Community College is partnering with the Special Student Services offices at Broken Arrow and Jenks High Schools to host this year’s South Tulsa Regional High School Transition Institute.
