Tom Palmer has been appointed chairman of the Oklahoma Department of Health’s recently established Fire Extinguisher Industry Licensing Board. The panel of seven industry professionals was created to develop fees and categories of licensure rules for the fire extinguisher industry. Palmer is president of Automatic Protection Systems Corporation and FireCo, both integrated fire and safety companies with offices in Oklahoma and Texas, founded in 1981 and 2001, respectively. AP and FireCo provide fire protection systems and equipment for regional, national and international industrial and institutional clients.

J. Bryan Osborne, owner of the Huntington Learning Center in Tulsa, was elected president of the Association of Remedial Educators. ARE is an independent association comprised of supplemental education franchise owners and has nearly 200 members across the country. Osborne and his wife Sabrina opened the Tulsa center almost five years ago. The Huntington Learning Center is the nation’s oldest provider of supplemental education and provides individualized instruction in reading, writing, math and study skills to students in kindergarten through grade 12.
