PGA Gearing For Next Summer’s Event

The PGA Championship and its historic Wanamaker Trophy return to Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa for the 89th PGA Championship, Aug. 6-12, 2007.
Official 2007 PGA Championship merchandise is now available to the general public at the new PGA Golf Shop, located at 6401 South Lewis Avenue on the grounds of Southern Hills Country Club. Store hours will be 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, Monday – Saturday, now through August 1, 2007.
With over 2,200 square feet of retail space, The PGA Golf Shop will offer a wide selection of officially licensed PGA merchandise such as limited edition prints, jackets, shirts, hats, golf bags, children’s apparel and a variety of special gift items incorporating the 2007 PGA Championship logo.
“This is the first time that the PGA has offered retail merchandise to the public in advance of our Championships, beyond traditional club Pro Shops,” said Ryan Jordan, Tournament Director of the 2007 PGA Championship at Southern Hills. “Based on the success of the retail store Southern Hills opened for the 2001 US Open, and the demand for the new 2007 Championship merchandise, we have designed a facility large enough to carry a broad range of items for golfers, and golf fans of all ages.”
The PGA is also unveiling another exclusive to visitors of the PGA Golf Shop, offering on-site sign ups for remaining volunteer positions and cash purchase opportunities for tickets to the 2007 Championship.
“We have been very pleased with the interest from the Tulsa community in our volunteer options and ticket packages available to spectators and fans for the 2007 PGA Championship,” said Jordan. “Now, for the first time, the PGA of America is offering a venue where spectators can purchase their Championship tickets or sign up to volunteer. Fans will have the opportunity to pay for their Championship tickets or volunteer package with cash, check or charge. This is in addition to our toll free number, 1-800-PGA-GOLF and our internet site, www.PGA2007.com. As an added bonus, volunteers who sign up on site at the PGA Golf Shop will also receive a 15% discount on 2007 PGA Championship merchandise that very same day.”
Daily Practice Round tickets may be purchased for $30.00, Championship Round tickets are available starting at $85.00, and a limited number weekly packages remain, starting at $325.00.
