Pitcher Kyle Lohse Undergoes Surgery
CHICAGO — St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Kyle Lohse underwent fascial release surgery of his right forearm today by Dr. Steven Shin in Los Angeles. He will begin physical therapy in one week and a return to competitive pitching has not been determined at this time.
Lohse was placed on the 15?day disabled list yesterday, May 27, retroactive to May 23, with exertional compartment syndrome in his right forearm. He last pitched for St. Louis on Saturday, May 22, against the Los Angeles Angels throwing 77 pitches over 3.1 innings.
