Planetarium Boasts Technology

NEW SIGHTS: The planetarium recently unveiled a new system, which greatly improves the resolution of their screen. Planetarium Manager Lesli Lewis paused before the unveiling.
Change is ubiquitous in the world of technology, enriching lives and challenging all to expand the connection to the world. The same is true at the Tulsa Air and Space Museum & Planetarium.
When opened the planetarium in May, 2006, Tulsa became home to one of only three planetariums in the world to have advanced digital technology, bringing full-dome educational experiences to Tulsa for the first time.
A new system will project over 3 million pixels onto the planetarium’s dome, a 60 percent increase over the present system. The “Starry Night” software offers the potential to continue the planetarium’s programming impact into the local classroom. The grand re-opening was held June 15.
