Plein Air Tulsa! Painting in the Osage Competition

POSTOAK Lodge & Retreat, a sponsor of the upcoming “Plein Air Tulsa! Painting in the Osage” competition, is excited to host the 2nd annual event scheduled for Oct. 19-21, according to Trisha Kerkstra of POSTAL

Introduced in 2017, the event was the first outdoor art event of its kind, encompassing all of the Tulsa County area, according to Linda Dunbar, of Lemon Tree Studios and AlphaRhoTau Civic Art Association – A.R.T. “This year promises to be even better as it has expanded to three days and includes sculpting in addition to the painting and drawing. There will also be nocturnal painting and sunrise painting competitions.”

While artists can go anywhere in the county on Friday, on Saturday they will be confined to the beautiful acreage at POSTOAK Lodge.

A painting from each artist will hang at the lodge through the end of December.  A reception, awards ceremony and art sale, open to the public, will be Sunday afternoon, Oct. 21 in the Great Room at POSTOAK Lodge.  Charles Harrington, nationally renowned plein air artist, will be judging the competition.

Artist check-in begins Friday, Oct. 19, at 7 a.m. at Ziegler’s Art Supply Store, 6 North Lewis Avenue. Artist check-in on Saturday and Sunday will be at POSTOAK Lodge, 5323 W. 31st Street North.  Registration, through Oct 1 is $45 for A.R.T. members and $50 for non-members. Day of registration is $55 members/$60 non-members.
