Port Keeps on Rolling


Even though the Tulsa Port of Catoosa faced adverse weather and economic conditions in 2008, barge freight shipped through the Port in December was high enough to push the annual total past two million tons, making last year about the same as every other for the past decade.

Weather affected Port operations dramatically in 2008, as rainfall totaled more than 13 inches above normal, significantly hampering barge shipping. The decline of both the domestic and global economy was also an issue the Port had to contend with.
