Reach for Recovery

HELPFUL ITEMS: It’s been a month of Cancer Awareness activities at Inverness Village and at a special presentation, Carolyn McCoy from the American Cancer Society, accepted 46 Reach for Recovery bags sewn by volunteers at the Life Care retirement community. The bags, along with others sewn by volunteers at Tulsa’s Temple Israel, are filled with helpful items and are delivered to cancer survivors to aid in their recovery from lumpectomies and mastectomies. Sewing the Reach to Recovery bags is an ongoing project of Inverness Village’s Creative Arts Committee and is headed by Elva Harmon. Pictured with McCoy are Inverness resident Pat Medaris, center, who serves on the committee, and Judy May, activities director.
