River Parks Lights Up for Season
River Parks will celebrate the Holiday Season with a lighting display from Friday, December 3rd through Sunday, January 2nd, thanks to the James W. Pielsticker Charitable Foundation.
The Pedestrian Bridge and surrounding trees along Riverside Drive will be transformed into a festive wonderland to delight park visitors. The tree trunks will be decorated with green miniature lights and the tops will have a new color combination called “Elegance” which features frosted, amber and clear miniature lights. The holly bushes decorated in red will add to the color scheme.
A 21-foot Christmas tree and a giant “Seasons Greetings” will be placed on the top of the bridge. This year the pedestrian overpass will be decorated with two 4-foot holiday wreaths and rows of icicles. This annual display of Christmas lights centered around the Pedestrian Bridge is one of the highlights of the Christmas season in Tulsa. Over 30,000 lights are used in this display. Park patrons can also enjoy the decorated art sculptures along the river.
In addition to River Parks, the area has beautiful holiday lights in locations such as the nearby Maple Ridge neighborhood, the Utica Square shopping area, and in Broken Arrow at the Rhema Bible Training Center.
