Run, Forrest, for Special Olympics

GOOD NEWS: Tulsa’s Forrest Gump a.k.a. Steve Kime is looking over the shoulder of Tulsa Mayor Bill LaFortune for information about the upcoming 2005 Tulsa Run. Special Olympic Oklahoma athletes J. T. Travers and Kristie Wainright from Tulsa sneak a peak at the GTR newspaper to learn more about the annual Tulsa Run event that attracts thousands of runners from all across the United States.
Steve Kime’s (Forrest Gump’s) appearance attracts a lot of attention and brings awareness to the Special Olympics program for children and adults with mental retardation. Kime will run the 9.3 mile Tulsa Run event on Saturday October 29. Tulsa Run 2005 is the 28th Annual 15 km race starting in downtown Tulsa. Steve runs the entire distance carrying “pledges” in his Gump suitcase from supporters making donations to this annual fund-raising event.
To make a tax deductible pledge and help Forrest run, contact Special Olympics Oklahoma at (918) 481-1234. Come out on October 29th and support Steve by saying, “Run Forrest Run!”
