Smith and Arnett Named New Board Members for Tulsa International Mayfest
Tulsa, OK., March 2, 2010 – Tulsa International Mayfest has recently added two new board members, Bruce B. Smith of the Oklahoma Tax Commission and Karisha Arnett of Arvest Bank.
Bruce Smith, who serves on the Mayfest Steering Committee as the Festival Banking Chair, has been named Treasurer. Bruce has been at the Oklahoma Tax Commission for over twenty-five years, where he has served as an Auditor, Criminal Investigator and currently is a Training and Taxpayer Liaison.
Bruce is a Tulsa native and a graduate of Memorial High School. He attended Oklahoma State University where he received a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance. He also attended, and successfully completed, the Special Agent’s Investigative Techniques course at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Georgia.
In addition to Mr. Smith’s duties at the Tax Commission, he has been involved with (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) and (Tax Counseling for the Elderly) programs, both as a volunteer and instructor, for several years. He has also taught Financial Investigative Techniques for the Counsel of Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET).
Karisha Arnett is a Tulsa native. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Tulsa. She is the Vice President of the Next Division at Arvest Bank where she focuses on the financial needs of young professionals.
Karisha is a strong advocate of Tulsa. She is actively involved in the Tulsa community as the 2009 Chair of ros and serves on the Tulsa Metro Chamber Executive Committee, the Tulsa Area Workforce Investment Board, Autism Center of Tulsa Advisory Board and the City of Tulsa Refuse & Recycle Task Force.
