OU Softball to Honor Seniors Friday Night
NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Oklahoma softball team will honor seniors Lindsey Vandever and Amber Flores in a special ceremony Friday evening at the OU Softball Complex. Admission is free and the festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. CT.
“Lindsey and Amber are two special seniors who forever will leave their legacy on this program,” said Oklahoma head coach Patty Gasso. “It’s going to be an emotional night, and I’m grateful to have had four wonderful years with them. I know how much they are loved by our fans, and we look forward to sharing this moment of celebration and reflection with everyone.”
A three-time all-Big 12 and all-region selection, Flores has earned All-America honors her past two seasons. The 2009 Big 12 Player of the Year is the school’s career record holder in walks drawn, home runs, slugging percentage and on-base percentage. A native of Calexico, Calif., Flores graduates later this month with a degree in sociology.
A two-time all-region and all-conference performer, Vandever was selected as the 2010 team captain. The Davenport, Okla., native ranks in the top 10 in career runs batted in, home runs and walks drawn. She graduates in December with a degree in human relations.
