Sooners Seeking 18th Conference Championship
NORMAN, Okla. — The 2010 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championship will be hosted by Oklahoma at the Howard McCasland Field House in Norman on April 3 at 7 p.m.
This year’s conference race looks to be strong once again for the second-ranked Sooners with No. 1 Stanford, No. 8 California, No. 10 Nebraska, and No. 12 Air Force all looking to deny OU’s chances to win its 18 conference championship.
Oklahoma will be seeking its 10th conference title out of the last 12 years as it won the last conference title in Norman in 2005. The Sooners have also tallied 30 individual MPSF conference championships under Williams.
In 2009, the Sooners finished second at the MPSF Championship at Stanford and claimed one team event title (vault), while junior Steven Legendre finished first on vault. Oklahoma won four consecutive conference titles from 2008-2005 and eight of the last 10.
OU recently won at Penn State University finishing the regular season with an 11-1 mark with eight victories against top-10 opponents. The Sooners claimed every all-around title in the regular season with Legendre (3), Dalton (3), Alex Naddour (1) and Ian Jackson (1) all winning titles.

The United States Military Academy at West Point will host the 2010 NCAA Men’s Gymnastics Championships, April 15-17, at the Christl Arena. Oklahoma has won five national championships under the leadership of head coach Mark Williams and has claimed eight overall in the program’s history.
A LOOK BACK AT LAST WEEK
The second-ranked OU men’s gymnastics team completed the regular season with a win over eighth-ranked Penn State at the Rec Hall in College Park, Pa. OU finished the regular season with an 11-1 mark with eight victories against top-10 opponents
OU finished with top scores on four out of the six team events on floor (61.250), pommel horse (58.450), vault (64.500) and parallel bars (58.500).
