Sooners to Close Regular Season in Waco


NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Oklahoma women’s golf team will compete at the 16-team Baylor Spring Invitational April 12-13.  Fifty-four holes will be played at the 6,394-yard, par-72 Twin Rivers Golf Club in Waco, Texas, with 36 holes Monday and 18 Tuesday.
tournament field will consist of teams from Oregon (ranked No. 36 nationally by Golfweek), Baylor, Boise State, Kansas Sate, McLennan Community College, North Texas, Oklahoma City, Oral Roberts, SMU, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Texas State, Texas Tech, UALR, UT San Antonio and Wichita State.
At the top of the OU lineup is junior Ellen Mueller (Evansville, Ind.).  Mueller has recorded nothing but top-25 finishes this season, leading the Sooners  nine of th 10 events.  Last week, Mueller finished 24th at the Lady Rebel Intercolleate in Oxford, Miss.
Taylor Schmidt (Kincardine, Ontario) holds the second spot in this week’s lineup.  A solid contributor throughout her debut season, Schmidt will compete in her ninth tournament.  Senior Andrea Sellmeyer (McAlester, Okla.) will participate in the third spot for the Sooners and is coming off aplace finish at the Lady Rebel Intercollegiate.  This will mark her eighth tournament of the 2009-2010 season. 
Senior Ryanne Elmer (Edmond, Okla.) returns to the Sooner lineup after a 79th-place finish in Oxford last week, while classmate Chelsey Collins (Lousiville, Colo.) will play in the spot.
