South Central Golf Expo Set for Feb. 3-5
Champions Tour winner Ron Streck and Champions Tour rookie and winner of multiple PGA Tour events David Edwards will be among the guest speakers at the fourth annual South Central Golf Expo presented by Hidden Oaks, Jenks’ newest exclusive gated community. The expo is Feb. 3-5 at the John Q. Hammons Arena at Union High School’s Multipurpose Activity Center, 66th & Mingo in Tulsa.
Streck, the native Tulsan who is as entertaining off the course as he is talented on it, won the Commerce Bank Championship and finished 36th on the money list in 2005, his first full season on the Champions Tour. Edwards, who has won four PGA Tour events and has 65 top-10 finishes, will join the Champions Tour full-time this spring.
Also giving free seminars will be the popular Marshall Smith of Miami, Okla., who has taught dozens of PGA pros; Andy Dillard of Edmond, noted as one of the top putting gurus, and many top teaching professionals such as Tracy Phillips of Cedar Ridge Country Club, Holley Hair and Amanda Fisher of Tee Town Golf Ranch, Sam Meredith of Forest Ridge Golf Club, Brian Baker of Baker’s Custom Golf, to name just a few. Clinics specifically for juniors will be held Saturday morning Feb. 4.
Fantastic door prizes will be offered and every golfer through the door will receive a one-year subscription to Golf Magazine. Tickets are $8 but discount coupons worth $2 off will be available in The Tulsa World the week of the show. Also, Friday, Feb. 3 is Senior Day, where golfers 55 and over can enter on a two-for-one special. No other discounts apply on the Senior Special.
