Spirit Award Judges Announce Top 25 Finalists
The top 25 business models have been selected to move on to the next round of the fifth annual SpiritBank/Tulsa Community College Entrepreneurial Spirit Award competition. One of them will win the top $30,000 prize plus priceless advice from coaches and judges throughout the competition.
“Tulsa continues to produce some of the most inventive and impressive entrepreneurs in the nation and the quality is evident in this year’s Spirit Award applicants,” said Ted Cundiff, president of SpiritBank and Entrepreneurial Spirit Award chairman. “After reviewing nearly 100 business proposals, we’re excited to announce the advancing businesses and get to know them along the Spirit Award journey.”

Car covers; Ion Solar ; Luxa Enterprises, ; Memory Pix Technologies; MOOGLE; Mtn. Walls Climbing Center (Mt. Walls ); PregoFIT; PropUp, ; Senior Safety Services; SHIKOBA Recycling; Sprouts Play Café; The Wine Cellar; Twin Foods, Inc.; ValueMyStock.com, Inc.; Video Surveillance & Security Inc.; and Wizki Industries .
Past Spirit Award winners include Cal-Tech, , producer of Sulfabate, a natural gas refining product; Real Time Rehab, a video-based physical therapy program; Grocio.com, a comparison-shopping search engine for groceries; and SeekingSitters, a baby sitter referral service. Both Grocio and SeekingSitters expanded into markets throughout the U.S. after their Spirit Award wins.
The top 25 entrepreneurs will pitch their business models and give a seven-minute pitch to judges who will identify the 12 best business models and advance them to the semi-final round July 14. The 12 semi-finalists will then work with business coaches who will offer resources and expertise to help polish their business plans and pitching techniques. Seven finalists will compete for the top prize awarded Nov. 15 at a ceremony at Tulsa Community College’s Center for Creativity in downtown Tulsa during Global Entrepreneurship Week.
