In July, St. John Health System and HealthSouth Corporation celebrated the new Broken Arrow hospital, St. John Rehabilitation Hospital, affiliated with HealthSouth, which will open to patients on Aug. 1. The 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital is located at 1200 W. Albany Dr. in Broken Arrow.

The hospital will serve patients overcoming a variety of debilitating illnesses and injuries including stroke and other neurological disorders, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, amputations, hip fractures, and complex orthopedic conditions.

The freestanding inpatient rehabilitation hospital includes 40 private patient rooms, featuring two isolation rooms, two bariatric rooms and six rooms equipped for dialysis treatments. Also included in the 49,000-square-foot hospital is a spacious therapy gym, outdoor courtyard, dining room and day-room areas.

“Through this hospital, patients will be treated with a multidisciplinary approach to help them meet their medical and personal goals,” said David Nicholas, chief executive officer of St. John Rehabilitation Hospital. “We look forward to reaching many milestones for a second time with our patients such as walking, communicating, driving, cooking and getting back to work.”

Care will transition from St. John Rehabilitation Hospital, which is currently located on the campus of St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, to the Broken Arrow hospital on Aug. 1.
