‘Step Up To Success’ Fashion Show and Auction

WALK THIS WAY: Dress for Success Tulsa gets ready for its Annual Fashion Show and Auction, “Step Up To Success,??? Oct. 24, with a silent auction, wine, dinner and of course a fashion show.


Dress for Success Tulsa, a not-for-profit organization located at 1109 S. Peoria Ave., is excited to announce its Annual Fashion Show and Auction, “Step Up To Success” on Friday, Oct. 24, 2008 at Greenwood Cultural Center, 322 N. Greenwood. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with a silent auction, wine, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and entrees.

Chera Kimiko, Anchor from Fox 23 will serve as Emcee for the event. Tulsa area business men and women, representing nine companies will be modeling the latest in fall and winter fashions. They will model apparel from Stein Mart, jewelry from Lia Sophia Jewelry, and shoes from The Glass Slipper. Models include Amanda Clinton of Cherokee Nations Businesses, Tim Colwell of Williams Companies, Earl Denning of Hillcrest Healthcare System, Katrina Moss of Explorer Pipeline Company, Maureen Petty of Petty’s Fine Goods, Lisa Phelps of Chesapeake Energy Corporation, Jimmy Russell of Smith Barney, Angela Swift of Francis Oil & Gas, and Donna Weinkauf of Weinkauf Petroleum.

Some of the live and silent auction items this year include a weekend getaway to Chicago, helicopter excursion, antique lamps from Charles Faudree Antiques, bohemian pillows from T.A. Lorton; jewelry from Lia Sophia and Nolan’s; salon packages from Miss Jackson’s Penthouse Salon, HG Salon, Ihloff Salon, Aza Salon, Spa Lux and Michael Bros Salon; golf and sporting packages from Meadowbrook Country Club, Emerald Falls, Golf Club of Oklahoma, and Cedar Ridge Country Club, Tulsa Oilers, ORU, OSU, and TU; entertainment/performing arts tickets from Cherokee Casino, Kristol Limo wine tour, Tulsa Ballet, Tulsa Opera, Tulsa Jazz Hall of Fame, and hotel packages from Crowne Plaza and the Hotel Ambassador. Additional items include a fitness package from Progressive Pilates, teeth whitening, facial and microdermabrasion, among others.

Executive chef Mark Michalski with Chef Style Catering will set up and coordinate food selections provided by the Olive Garden, Chalkboard, Charleston’s, Compadres, Elmer’s Barbeque, Mazzios, Zios, Panara Bread, McAlisters, Lava, Renaissance Hotel, The Silo at Redberry Farm, and many other delicious donations from Tulsa area restaurants.

Table centerpieces will be provided by several local florists including Bloomies of Tulsa, Toni’s Flowers and Gifts, Florist on the Square, Art in Bloom, Petal Pushers, The Wild Orchid, Southpark Florist, Rose’s Florist, the Master’s Flowers, All-Around Flowers, Mrs. DeHaven’s, Blossom Shoppe, and Mary Murray’s.

Tax-deductible table sponsorships are available at $800 (Chairman) and $600 (Executive) levels. Individual tickets are $50. The Mission of Dress for Success Tulsa is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support, and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Women are referred to Dress for Success by a continually expanding array of nonprofit and government agencies and are never charged for these services.
