Student Scores Perfect ACT

HIGH ACHIEVEMENT: Bishop Kelley High School senior Anna Roberts recently scored a perfect 36 on the American College Testing (ACT) examination, her first attempt at taking the test. “In general, fewer than one-tenth of one percent of students who take the ACT earn a top composite score of 36,” says Ed Colby, ACT director of public relations. “In the 2013 graduating class nationally, 1,162 students out of a total of 1,799,243 ACT-tested graduates earned a 36; in the 2014 graduating class, 1,407 out of 1,845,787 tested graduates earned a 36.” Roberts is a member of the Bishop Kelley soccer team, Spanish Club, Art Club, and Pre-Health Professional Club and is a Bishop Kelley Brother Bernardine Scholar. In order to be a Brother Bernardine Scholar, students must enroll in three honors and/or advanced placement classes each year, take five advanced placement tests prior to graduation, and complete a capstone project. In her spare time, Roberts volunteers with Therapeutic Service Dogs of Oklahoma. Upon graduation, she plans to attend college but is still undecided as to which school. “We are very proud of Anna and this achievement,” says Father Brian O’Brien, Bishop Kelley president. “To attain a perfect score on the ACT is an extraordinary feat and speaks volumes to this young lady, her parents and her teachers along the way.”
