Village Inn Restaurants can rightfully continue their promise to serve guests The Best Pie in America after 10 first-place
wins at the American Pie Council’s 2006 National Pie Championships.

“A showing like this at such a prestigious event confirms that the Village Inn Restaurant expertise extends beyond breakfast,” stated Susan Hernandez, Vice-President of Marketing for VICORP Restaurants.

“While our business has grown as a result of our breakfast heritage, we are constantly striving to make sure every item on our menu is up to the standards we have set with our made-from-scratch breakfast offerings.”

Village Inn won top honors for its daily pies including Banana Cream, Country Apple, French Silk, Lemon Meringue, No-Sugar-Added Apple and Key Lime. Specialty and seasonal pies that took top awards are Fresh Strawberry, Pumpkin, Pumpkin with Whipped Cream and Triple Chocolate Treat.

To help ensure maximum enjoyment of those delicious pies, Village Inn recommends remembering the following serving tips:

• Double crust fruit pies should not be refrigerated—the flavors separate.

• Lemon meringue pies should be cut with a wet knife to avoid having the meringue stick to the knife—get the perfect cut!
