The Tulsa Area United Way has announced a roster of Trailblazer companies and organizations that will conduct early campaigns this summer in advance of the United Way’s traditional fall fundraising campaign.

“As Trailblazers, these companies and organizations are truly blazing the trail and providing an example to others as we prepare to kick off the 2013 campaign,” says Mark Graham, president and of the Tulsa Area United Way.

The Trailblazer companies agree to conduct “model” campaigns, following certain best practices prescribed by the United Way. They also challenge themselves to significantly increase their campaigns over last year, Graham says.

This year’s Trailblazers include BancFirst Tulsa, Bank of Oklahoma, Compression Solutions, Inc., Crafton, Tull and Associates, Inc., Littlefield Brand Development, Luxa Enterprises, , Schnake Turnbo Frank, T.D. Williamson, Inc., The Bridges Foundation, Tulsa Federal Credit Union and the Tulsa Regional Chamber.

The Trailblazers will announce the results of their early campaigns at the Day of Caring breakfast and program at 7 a.m. Sept. 6, at the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club, 2143 S. Olympia Ave. The public is invited to attend.

This year’s campaign will officially kick off at the MidFirst Backyard Bowl football game between Jenks and Union High Schools on Sept. 13 at the University of Tulsa’s Chapman Stadium. The goal of this year’s campaign will be announced at the game.
The campaign will culminate at the annual “Unite!” celebration on Nov. 14, at Tulsa Community College’s Center for Creativity.
