TCC Welcomes Thousands for Fall Semester


President and Leigh B. Goodson, Ph.D. welcomed students at each campus as the fall semester which began Aug. 20. An estimated 16,000 students are enrolled in courses from Accounting to Veterinary Technology for this semester. has four main campuses – Metro, Northeast, Southeast, and West as well as the Riverside Community Campus and Aviation Center at the Richard Lloyd Jones Jr. Airport and the Owasso Community Campus.

New this year, implemented wait lists for popular classes allowing students to be in line for spots that opened up before the start of the semester. More than 1,700 students were on wait lists for specific classes and more than 1,300 students moved from the wait list into the class they wanted.

  expects to see the largest group of Tulsa Achieves students in the history of the initiative at roughly 3,400.

• Estimated 1,500 returning second and third year Tulsa Achieves students

The class with the most sections this fall is English Comp II followed by Public Speaking, English Comp I, and U.S. History – Civil War Era to the Present. These are general education courses that transfer to a four-year university.

With thousands of people going to class, students should stay alert, watch for pedestrians, lock their vehicle, and take valuables such as computers, phones or book bags with them.
