TCC Holds Transition Institute
For students with disabilities, life after high school presents a whole new challenge. The disABLED Student Resource Center at Tulsa Community College is partnering with the Special Student Services offices at Broken Arrow and Jenks High Schools to host this year’s South Tulsa Regional High School Transition Institute.
The two-night event, to be held Feb. 26 and Feb. 28, consists of sessions geared toward students based on their degree of disability. Both nightly sessions begin at 6 p.m. in the student union of TCC’s Southeast Campus (81st and Highway 169). Students from Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Jenks, Owasso, Bixby, Union, Bartlesville, Claremore and other surrounding districts are invited to attend. Parents are encouraged to attend the session with their child.
The Feb. 26 session is geared toward students with disabilities who plan to attend college after graduating high school. The session on Feb. 28 offers resources for students whose disability is more severe and may prevent them from attending college.
The disABLED Student Resource Center at TCC provides comprehensive support services to persons with disabilities at all TCC campuses and locations.
