Tea & Magnolias to Host Christmas Home Tour
BENEFITING PATHWAYS: The Christmas Home Tour will benefit the Pathways Adult Learning Center, which is based out of Kirk of the Hills Church. Students are given the opportunity to continue their education in the program.
Tea & Magnolias will hold their 2nd annual Christmas Home Tour on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010. The event has already become a tradition for many families in the area and those who travel from surrounding communities to attend.
One of the most special components of the event is not during the tour itself, but the reason why the funds are being raised. Susan Ponville, owner of Tea & Magnolias is excited to again donate all of the proceeds from the event to the Pathways Learning Center.
“We feel so blessed in our business and this is a great way to give something back to the community. It is such a worthy cause.”
“Pathways Adult Learning Center is for adults with special needs. Pathways provides a unique christian program dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for adults with developmental disabilities by assisting each individual to achieve emotional, cognitive, physical, social, spiritual and vocational growth to his/her fullest potential.
“My daughter Jamie has worked with special needs students for over seven years now. Our church, Kirk of the Hills, hosts the Pathways program and it was through her interest and initiative that we began this event. I became aware of the wonderful effort and was behind her 100 percent.”
Funds from the event will be used for teaching supplies and will open the doors to even more opportunities for the students to experience and learn about.
Festivities will begin at the quaint shop with browsing, mingling and fun. Guests will then have the opportunity to tour three homes that are cleverly decorated for the holiday season.
“The homes all have three different styles, which will give guests great ideas for their own decorations. The first is a brand new home. There are natural elements in all of the décor mixed with a modern style.”
“The second home is a little more traditional with old world charm. Every nook is filled with pretty holiday accents. Lastly, my home is also included in the tour, which is very traditional. I have many decorations that reflect the same sort of style that is in Tea & Magnolias.”
Customers can catch a free shuttle at Tea & Magnolias between 1 and 4 p.m. on Dec. 4, which will take them to and from the three beautifully decorated homes and then back to the store. Tickets are $10 and are available at Tea & Magnolias or through Pathways.
