The Grainger Foundation Supports Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma
Tulsa, OK – The Grainger Foundation, Lake Forest, Illinois, has donated $10,000 to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma in support of its mission to feed the hungry of Eastern Oklahoma and engage the community in ending hunger.
“This grant will allow us to provide food to hungry Oklahomans during a time when we are seeing increased demand for the services that we provide,” said Sara Waggoner, Executive Director, Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. “We are grateful to The Grainger Foundation for its generosity.” The Food Bank, together with its 460 member agencies scattered throughout 24 counties of Eastern Oklahoma, collectively feeds about 60,000 people each week, which is the equivalent of 621,000 meals per month. This donation was recommended by Randy Frost, Branch Manager of W.W. Grainger, Inc.’s Tulsa location. Grainger has been a part of the Tulsa business community for more than 40 years as the leading broad line supplier of maintenance, repair, and operating products. “We are proud to recommend the programs offered by Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma,” said Frost. “We understand the importance of providing food for those in need and we appreciate the work that the Food Bank does to fight hunger in our community.” Founded in 1981, the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma is one of the largest, private hunger-relief organizations in Oklahoma. These programs include food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, after school programs, shelters and senior centers.
