Last Thursday, March 12th at 11:00 a.m., the result of an innovative partnership was unveiled in the waiting area of concourse A at the Tulsa International Airport. It is a children’s play area designed and produced by Oklahoma Aquarium staff, but the goal of the feature is not just to entertain antsy kids, it is also to project a positive image of the Tulsa metro area and its attractions to travelers. The children’s play area is one of several recommendations made by a special airport committee, the Cultural Advisory Group, formed to enhance the visitor experience through art and cultural displays. Children from a local pre-school were on hand to try out the play area immediately after the unveiling.
