The Ten Tenors Return to Tulsa with New Show

Internationally renowned Australian group The Ten Tenors returns to Tulsa with their newly released album Nostaligica for a limited engagement of only two performances May 9-10. Coming off a whirlwind European tour, The Ten Tenors hit Tulsa just in time for Mother’s Day. Tickets are now on sale.
Tenor and Musical Director Drew Graham describes the new album as “a romantic journey of musical discovery.” that was inspired by and dedicated to all their fans. Nostalgica is an album full of classics from the 20th Century, produced by Grammy Award-Winning Producer Simon Franglen in collaboration with Musical Directors Drew Graham and Craig Hendry, and backed by magnificent orchestral arrangements by Steven Baker.
The group has come a long way since humble beginnings as university students at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, performing as a way to earn some pocket money, to becoming one of the most successful worldwide touring acts today, averaging 250 international concerts each year, and they are keen to release the new album, described by manager D-J Wendt, as “our best album to date.”
The Ten Tenors set out to capture the intimacy between themselves and the audience during live performances, while invoking nostalgic memories of people, places or times in history, with songs ranging from Mexican best-sellers to post-war classics to jazz, including Granada, You’ll Never Walk Alone & Louis Armstrong classic, What A Wonderful World. Also included is their all-time, most requested song, Irish favorite Danny Boy, and Besame Mucho.
The album was recorded during a grueling seven-month tour of the United States. In anticipation of reaching the 10-year anniversary as a professional touring act, The Ten Tenors felt this album heralded change. They looked forward to the future of The Ten Tenors, and also referred back to their past, collectively as a group, and individually. They were reminded warmly of their musical idols, teachers, parents and fans, and the music they related to those aspects of their lives and careers.
“The song selections for this album chose themselves,” said Musical Director, Drew Graham, who addresses fans, “Thank-you for helping to shape Nostalgica – these songs are our gift to you.”
