Three-Point Barrage Lifts ORU Past Southern Utah, 94-70

CEDAR CITY, Utah – Oral Roberts tied a school-record with 18 3-pointers in a 94-70 victory over Southern Utah on Monday night at The Centrum to give the Golden Eagles the regular-season Summit League crown outright.

ORU ended the regular season with an overall record of 21-8 and a conference mark of 15-3.

Jaci Bigham (McAlester, Okla.) caught fire on Monday night to lead all Golden Eagles with 20 points on a 6-of-9 shooting effort from 3-point range. Bigham carried ORU in the first half with five treys in a six-minute span.

Fellow freshman Kevi Luper (Adair, Okla.) added 18 points, including 14 in the second half, to go along with a team-high five assists and four steals.

Noelia Quintas (Galiza, Spain) posted a career-high 13 points off a perfect 4-of-4 effort from downtown, while Janae Voelker (Newton, Kan.) also scored in double figures with 12 points and a team-leading seven rebounds.

The Golden Eagles had a dismal start to the first half of play, scoring only three points in the opening five minutes. After going 3-of-14 from 3-point range in the first 12 minutes, ORU heated up, nailing nine of the last 10 long-range buckets to take a 12-point lead into the break.

ORU shot 49 percent (32-of-65) from the field, 50 percent (18-of-36) from 3-point range and 67 percent (12-of-18) from the free-throw line.

Caitlyn Sears of Southern Utah led all scorers with 23 points, while Challis Pascucci posted a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards.
