Thunder Youth Spring Football League Starts Soon, Tryouts Set

The Oklahoma Thunder football team announced the dates and times for their tryout camp for the Junior Thunder teams in the World Youth Football League. Tryouts are open to all youth football players from 9 to 14 years of age. Players participating in the tryouts will be eligible to be placed on one of three teams, depending on their age; 9-10, 11-12, 13-14.
Tryouts will be held on January 22-24, 2010. Players need to attend only one of the tryout sessions; Jan. 22, 7 – 9 p.m., Jan 23, 9 – 11 a.m., and Jan. 24, 4 – 6 p.m. The tryout camp will be at Perfect Practice Athletic Center, 4914 S. Sheridan, Tulsa, OK. There is a registration fee of $25 per player, and those who pre-register will receive a free t-shirt. Lone Star Steakhouse is the presenting sponsor of the Oklahoma Junior Thunder tryout camp.
The Oklahoma Thunder is a member of the World Football League, and their season runs from May through August. The Junior Thunder teams, are competitive travel teams, and will play their games on Saturday afternoons, prior to the adult Thunder games, at LaFortune Stadium, in Tulsa, and will travel to other cities in the league.
The Oklahoma Thunder is the two-time defending champions, and the Junior Thunder 11-12 year old team is the defending champs.
