The Bixby City Council and City Manager have finished the search for a new lead for the Bixby Police Department.
The City of Bixby conducted an extensive application and interview process which yielded candidates locally, across the state, and even out-of-state.
On Oct. 11, the City Council unanimously voted to appoint Todd Blish as the new Chief of Police for the Bixby Police Department.
He began in his new position Nov. 1.
Chief Blish previously served as a Major with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol with over 11 years of command level leadership and has more than 33 years of law enforcement experience in Oklahoma. He was a graduate of the 248th session of the FBI National Academy in 2012 and received a Master’s Degree in Administrative Leadership from the University of Oklahoma in 2015.
Blish leads with the philosophy that, “Exceptional results are the net sum of exceptional people working together to do hard things for the right reasons.”
Chief Blish said, “I am looking forward to serving both the community as well as the members of Bixby Police Department as we work together to protect our community and move forward. This is truly an exceptional community with an exceptional group of law enforcement professionals. I will make it my mission to bring people together for a common purpose and continue moving the Bixby Police Department in a positive direction”
