Toyland Honors Desiree Doherty

Toyland Ball, held every January, is The Parent Child Center of Tulsa’s annual signature fundraising event. This black tie gala with a whimsical theme offers an elegant evening of dinner and dancing, with a live auction.

This year, the center honored retiring Executive Director Desiree Doherty. Desiree has been the executive director for 10 years. Under her leadership, The Parent Child Center has grown from a $2.1. million agency to a $4.5 million agency. The number of employees has grown from 36 to 63. Desiree’s passion for its mission to prevent child abuse and neglect has propelled the agency forward. At Toyland Ball 2017, celebrated her leadership, accomplishments and love for the children and families served by The Parent Child Center.

Every year Toyland Ball is singly responsible for raising approximately 16 percent of the agency’s total operating budget.
