On May 16, Tulsa Public Schools elementary students participated in the Farm-to-Market Day, an event created through a partnership between and Sodexo Child Nutrition Services.
The goal is to increase students’ dairy, fruit and vegetable consumption by educating them on food’s journey from the farm to a market. The event included live cow and milking demonstration at the Southwest Dairy Farmers’ Mobile Dairy Classroom, fresh produce tastings, demonstrations on worm composting by Oklahoma State University Extension Master Gardeners, and more.
