TPS Schools Highlight State Tournament Brackets
TULSA, Okla. – Tonight begins the OSSAA state basketball tournament. Seven high schools, boys and girls, plus Union girls and Jenks boys will be representing the Tulsa area on the hardwood.
In 5A, boys’ and girls’ teams from Booker T. Washington (with the girls going for their third straight title), East Central and Memorial boys and girls have qualified. The McLain boys’ team is the lone district team in 4A to make the tournament. They’ll face Broken Bow in the first round this evening at Oklahoma Christian University in Oklahoma City.
Other action in the first round includes girls vs. Deer Creek-Edmond, boys vs. Western Heights; East Central girls vs. MacArthur, boys vs. Ardmore; Memorial girls vs. Western Heights, boys vs. MacArthur.
The first round of the 5A girls’ is at Sapulpa. First round for the boys is ORU’s Mabee Center.
Jenks boys will play Putnam City at Skiatook at 3:30 this afternoon and the Union Girls will play Midwest City at Catoosa at 2 p.m.
