TTC Gets New Mobile Computer Lab

CUTTING EDGE: Tulsa Technology Center recently unveiled a new mobile computer lab at its training center on Memorial Drive. Assisting with the event were, left to right, Tami J. Smith, industrial coordinator; Traci Scullawl, board secretary, Tulsa County Clerks office; Dr. Gene Callahan, superintendent and CEO, TTC; Fred Emmer, Tulsa Metro Chamber and Al Shasteen, director of business and career development. The lab is equipped with an instructor workstation utilizing a 42-inch LCD display and features 12 Dell laptop computers with the latest versions of industry standard software. The mobile computer lab is wheelchair-accessible and was designed to provide hands-on computer instruction to Tulsa-area companies on site. The new lab replaces a recreational vehicle conversion used for computer training since 1988. Over the past five years, nearly 3,000 students have been trained using a mobile computer.
