TU Football Players Honored
University of Tulsa quarterback G.J. Kinne has been named to the C- All-Academic Team. Damaris Johnson and James Lockett earned Conference second-team honors. The Hurricane had four freshmen named to the C- all-Freshman Team.
Kinne has maintained a 3.33 grade point average in exercise sports science.
In 12 games this season, Kinne completed 61-percent of his passes for 2,732 yards and 22 touchdowns. Kinne had three 300-plus passing games on the year and became the first player in school history to pass for over 300 yards and rush for 100 yards in a single game, a feat he accomplished against Houston.
Damaris Johnson was the nation’s No.1 ranked player in all-purpose yards. He was named to the C- second team as both a receiver and punt returner. Safety James Lockett earned second-team merits for the second consecutive season.
A quartet of freshmen, defensive end Cory Dorris, free safety Dexter McCoil, offensive center Trent Dupy and receiver Ricky Johnson were named to the C- all-Freshman Team.
