TU President Orsak Fired After 74 Days

The University of Tulsa has announced the termination of Geoffrey Orsak as president of the institution effective immediately. TU spokeswoman Mona Chamberlain could not provide further comment.

Prior to his position as President of TU, Orsak was dean of the Bobby B. Lyle School of Engineering at Southern Methodist University. Orsak holds a B.S.E.E., M.E.E. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rice University.

TU Executive Vice President Kevan Buck has been authorized by the board to manage the day-to-day operations of the university.
