TU’s Echo Theater Company Premiers New Play by Tulsa Playwright Ilan Kozlowski

Award-winning Tulsa screenwriter and playwright Ilan Kozlowski
Echo Theater Company at the University of Tulsa will stage the premier of Tulsa-based award-winning screenwriter and playwright Ilan Kozlowski.
“Shades of White” is a serio-comedy set in 1990’s Tulsa, Oklahoma during the year of the 75th anniversary of the Tulsa Race riot. The play explores the relationships between an Israeli immigrant, and a former Ku Klux Klan member, and their wives.
Narrow-minded Dr. Whitehill and his crone of a wife, Birdie, are set in their miserable ways until Dr. Whitehill encounters Yossi, an open-hearted Israeli musician who loves life. Uplifting, humorous and ultimately hopeful, “Shades of White” is a fast-paced comedy that is relevant for our world today.
“Shades of White” is a 2017/2018 entry into the awards. This will be the first time that Echo Theatre Company has entered a production into the TATES.
The play is directed by Machele Miller Dill, and starring Pete Brennan, Julie Tattershall, John Orsulak, Diana Easter and Kerry Daniels.
