TU Alumni Uncork Fun at Mayo Hotel

UNCORKING FUN: The 3rd Annual TU Uncorked wine festival was held June 1 at the Mayo Hotel. The event, hosted by the Tulsa Chapter of the TU Alumni Association, raised more than $40,000 for the Alumni Scholarship Endowment Fund. The University of Tulsa Alumni Association Tulsa Chapter held the third annual TU Uncorked June 1 at the Mayo Hotel, 115 West 5th Street. Sponsorships helped support The University of Tulsa Alumni Association Scholarship Fund. The event included participating wineries, restaurants and caterers, along with featured auction items.
Oklahoma wineries that were present at TU Uncorked 2007 provided tastings and unopened bottles of wine will be available for purchase by cash or check. New for 2007, there was also be a cash bar for purchasing full glasses of wine. The following Oklahoma wineries participated in the event: Cabin Creek Vineyards and Winery, Natura Vineyards and Winery, Sailing Horse Winery and Vineyard, Stone Bluff Cellars, Summerside Vineyards and Winery and Tidal School Vineyards.
Tulsa’s finest restaurants and caterers also participated in TU Uncorked 2007. Attendees enjoyed cuisine from: Brasserie, Cosmo Café, Flemings, Full Moon Café, In the Raw, Los Cabos, McGill’s, P.F. Changs, The Melting Pot, The Palace Café, Topéca Coffee and TU Dining Services.
In addition to the silent and live auction, a raffle featuring a Zongshen Metro 50 Scooter, donated by Tulsa Scooters was held. Auction items included: Ultimate TU Golden Hurricane Fan Package by Spears Travel: one amazing trip for two November 10-18, 2007 to Maryland to watch the TU men’s basketball team in tournament play, three days of sightseeing and shopping in New York City and a visit to West Point to watch the TU football team play Army; WestSIDE-WAYS Party – No Wimpy Pinots, a private dinner for eight at the home of Bryan Close, featuring Culinary Instructor Brandon Thrash; cine-course chef’s tasting dinner for ten, paired with French wines in a Polo Grill private dining room; two TU Golden Hurricane bicycles; private coaches dinner at the home of Bubba and Tina Cunningham, along with special guests Doug and Lael Wojcik, Charlene Thomas-Swinson and Aaron Swinson, and Todd and Penny Graham; Beefaloni Brothers gourmet pizza party for ten, donated by Kitchen Ideas; signed Lovie Smith football; Palm Treo 700wx and Sprint service, donated by Anyware Mobile Solutions; Anglo-Indian curry dinner for eight, donated by Sharon Bell and Greg Gray; Rug donated by Amini’s Galleria; original work of art by Brad Place; private dinner for ten at Brookside by Day; Rainbow Playset: Carnival Series Kids Kingdom with blue and gold canopy roof donated by Jack Wills; and gift certificates, artwork, gifts, camps, and more.
