Tulsa 66ers Add Eight in 2010 Draft


TULSA, Okla., Nov. 1, 2010 – The Tulsa 66ers selected Scottie Reynolds with the 13th pick of the first round in the 2010 D-League Draft Monday evening. Additionally, the 66ers selected Perry Stevenson with the 20th pick, Josh Lomers with the 45th pick, Devin Sweetney with the 52nd pick, Mamadi Diane with the 77th pick, Brandon Brooks with the 84th pick, Marlon Jones with the 109th pick and Michael Sturns with the 116th pick.

“We are extremely pleased with the outcome of tonight’s D-League Draft,” said Thunder Director of Minor League Operations and Basketball Technology Paul Rivers. “We are excited to add these individuals to our development program in Tulsa and look forward to the start of training camp next week.”

Reynolds, 6-2/190, concluded his Villanova career as the school’s second all-time leading scorer with 2,222 points while ranking sixth all-time in assists (482). As a senior, the guard garnered First Team All-Big East honors, as well as being named First Team All-America by the Associated Press.

Stevenson, 6-9/230, played collegiately for the University of Kentucky where he finished with 159 blocks, good for fifth place on UK’s all-time list. The forward appeared in 134 games (42 starts) for the Wildcats, averaging 4.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 17.6 minutes.

Lomers, 7-0/265, averaged 4.5 points while shooting 66.3% (226-341) from the floor and 2.7 rebounds in 129 games over a four-year collegiate career at Baylor. The center was a three-time academic All-Big 12 First Team selection. Sweetney, 6-5/205, averaged 14.0 points and 6.9 rebounds in 109 career games in a four-year career at St. Francis, Pa. As a senior the guard was named to the All-Northeast Conference First Team.

Diane, 6-6/205, played professionally in Spain for the 2009-10 season, averaging 11.3 points and 22.5 minutes in 26 games for CB Penas Huesca of the . Collegiately, Diane averaged 8.6 points in 119 games over a four-year career at Virginia.

Brooks, 6-2/187, played in 63 games for Alabama State where he averaged 11.6 points and a league-high 6.4 assists per outing. As a senior, the guard was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference Player of the Year. Jones, 6-9/268, averaged 5.5 points and 6.0 rebounds his senior season at Oklahoma City University. The forward played in 31 games (19 starts) for Oklahoma City and averaged 22.8 minutes per contest.

Sturns, 6-5/205, transferred to Holy Family his senior year and led Division II in scoring with 26.6 points per game. Sturns holds the school record for most points in a game (51) and most points in a season (824). The guard most recently played with Japan team Rising Fukuoka where he averaged 17.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists a game.

Brooks, Jones and Sturns all attended the 66ers open tryouts in early October.
Tulsa opens training camp on Sunday, Nov. 7. The 66ers season tips off on the road with back-to-back games against the Bakersfield Jam on Nov. 19 and 20.
