Tulsa Advertising Agencies Shine in Regional ADDYs


Several Tulsa advertising agencies, production companies and photographers and were honored April 16 at the American Advertising Federation’s 10th District Awards in Amarillo, Texas. The district represents 28 local professional clubs throughout Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana.

Tulsa forwarded 96 pieces from the local awards into the district competition, bringing the total to just over 1,000 individual entries. Two Tulsa Advertising Federation members were in Amarillo and brought home 37 Awards total, with only three other clubs winning more. Seven of Tulsa’s entries were awarded a Gold and will continue on to the National Competition. The National Awards will be held June 11 in Orlando, Fla.

Tulsa’s top winner this year is Amatucci Photography which received 12 awards, including 2 Gold s. Local agencies were the next big winners with Littlefield winning 10, Cubic had six and Brothers & Company was awarded four.

Tulsa students were in Amarillo at the same time for the AAF’s 10th District National Student Advertising Competition. Under the tutelage of adjunct professor Bill Hinkle, students from The Ad Program at The University of Tulsa won Judges’ Choice for Best Plans Book. This year’s project required work for State Farm insurance, and a senior management representative for the company invited the team to present to over 750 Texas agents at their annual convention this summer in Corpus Christi.
