Tulsa CPA Inducted into Hall of Fame

An OSCPA fellow member since 1981, Milligan graduated in 1977 from East Central University in Ada, Okla., and later joined Hogan & Slovacek, in 1984. In January 2009, Hogan & Slovacek merged with Tullius Taylor Sartain & Sartain. He is a current shareholder in the tax division of the Tulsa office, specializing as a tax consultant with an emphasis on closely held organizations and family wealth. Recently, he has become proficient in retirement and personal financial planning and serves as a principal team member for Disciplined Investments, , a wholly owned subsidiary of HoganTaylor, which offers investment planning and management services.
An active member of the OSCPA, Milligan has served in many leadership positions, including chair of the Continuing Professional Education Committee for the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants at both the State and Tulsa Chapter levels. He is also a past president of both the OSCPA and the Tulsa Chapter.
Donald Orr, , an OSCPA fellow member, and last year’s Accounting Hall of Fame Inductee said, “I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Pat for a lot of years and it wasn’t until I had the opportunity to work with him on the Executive Committee of the OSCPA that I came to fully appreciate him. Both his personal and professional attributes are as solid as a rock. He is definitely an asset to the OSCPA and our profession.”
David Hogan, , a senior advisor at HoganTaylor and a fellow member of the OSCPA, said, “Pat is a dedicated professional and has always been actively involved in OSCPA activities. He is a tireless worker and has many long time clients that look to him for ongoing advice. He is very deserving of this award.”
The Oklahoma Society of s Accounting Hall of Fame Award was created and first awarded in 1968 to honor members who extensively and generously contribute to the accounting profession. For the inductee selection, the Society incoming president appoints a nominating committee of prior recipients who then recommend a member to be considered for the award. Suggested criteria include participation and leadership in the OSCPA, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Oklahoma Accountancy Board, and in civic and community organizations. Members are also judged based on professional attainments, such as journal publication and career achievement.
