ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: Tulsa Biofuels will be collecting cooking oil in Bixby this month. The discarded oil will then be turned into biofuel.
The Metropolitan Environmental Trust and Tulsa Biofuels collected
residential used cooking oil and grease for biodiesel production. Cooking grease is the primary cause of most residential pipeline and City sewer main blockages. After the cooking oil waste is collected, it is taken back to Tulsa Biofuels and turned into a clean burning renewable fuel called biodiesel, which is 70 percent cleaner than petroleum diesel.
