Tulsa Rowing Club Juniors Well Represented

IN SYNC: The Tulsa Rowing Club Juniors earned two 1st place finishes along with two bronze medals and many crews qualifying for their respective finals.
The Tulsa Rowing Club Juniors started their spring campaign in fine fashion at the Heart of Texas regatta in Austin, Tex. The team earned two first place finishes along with two bronze medals and many crews qualifying for their respective finals.
On March 3, the boys novice team led the charge with two gold medals in the collegiate novice events. The crew of Garrett Allan (Union) John Lohrey (Holland Hall), David Maxwell (Edison), Max Duenner (Holland Hall), Michael Rose (Holland Hall), Alex Workman (Union), Chris Foley (Jenks), Reed Price (Home) and Aaron Pohl (Holland Hall) won the men’s novice eights by beating crews from the University of Texas and the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
In addition, the boys novice team continued their run of success by defeating Northwestern State University and the Milwaukee School of Engineering to place first in the collegiate novice fours. The boys novice four consisted of Kelly Flint (Holland Hall), John Lohrey (Holland Hall), David Maxwell (Edison), Max Duenner (Holland Hall) and Michael Rose (Holland Hall).
“These athletes have worked exceptionally hard to achieve this result since they started rowing in August; it’s truly a privilege to work with a group of young men who have made such an impact at such an early stage in their rowing careers,” says novice boys Head Coach Neil Bergenroth.
In the varsity events, Nathan Klammer (Edison) and Mason Fuller (Cascia Hall) won a bronze medal in the boy’s varsity doubles.
In the Sunday events, the girl’s team made an impact on the competition by winning the bronze medal in the women’s junior varsity fours. The crew of Megan Hegenbart (Cascia Hall), Aleks Stogsdill (Broken Arrow), Anne Philpot (Regent), Emily Hyde (Holland Hall) and Madison Davidson (Jenks) rowed a strong race to place in a competitive field.
The boy’s varsity eight made the final of the junior eights as well as both and A and B boys lightweight fours.
The Tulsa Rowing Club Juniors will be running summer camps in the month of June for 8th grade and high school athletes looking to try the sport for the first time.
